Been in Santorini for 5 days in Perissa and here for another 10 days. Like the world over I no longer have high expectations of anywhere and here is no different. I appreciate it for what it is (different – I live in the French alps) and very Greek ie different people language supermarket food etc. You’re right that the buses are random and the prices too but at the end of the day whatever. We actually like the black and red beaches great snorkelling, and compared to France it’s actually cheaper, lattes, cigarettes etc. But it does have a Disneyland feel to it, and not the mama Mia vibe. But 100% sun guaranteed every day, can’t complain. Wouldn’t recommend it but I don’t really recommend anywhere nowadays 🙂

If you are on the boat, facing the front of the ship, we had a room on the right side – I believe we got more light during the sunset. I truly didn’t think about it till now, mostly because you don’t spend a lot of time in your room. I was out on the deck from when I woke up till I went to sleep, and no the deck, you get lighting all day.

Hello what a wonderful account of your trip. Are you able to say which ‘side’ of the boat you think had the best vistas? Eastern side or Western side. Do I opt for waking to the sun coming in, in the morning, or have the sun on my room in the afternoon? Thank you.
