There will be a lot of snow, maybe even a few snow storms, so I would just be cautious. The main highway was plowed and easily drivable when we went.

When I was there, they didn’t have a fence. Over the past few years they’ve been adding fences and no trespassing signs due to the increase in tourism. So lot of people posting photos in a spot that is now off limits will happen. Thank you for bringing it to my attention though. I will make a note of it in my blog.

I don’t think that’s good practice and you should not promote such things. People see these pictures and want to re-create them. It’s dangerous and Icelanders most definitely hat it when tourists do that.
